Well I watched the second presidential debate last night; time shifted of course because I had it recorded on the TiVo. I heard through the internet and Tonight Show jokes that during the first debate George W. Bush really sucked. Yeah, I heard he kept making his every reply to various questions "well it takes a lot of hard work" or some such redundant thing. Anyway it wasn't hard for me to believe that Bush befuddled speaking in this instance, because speaking is something that one most certainly can tell does not come natural to Bush. I believe Bush has already had a well documented record of trouble with public speaking and a bit of a struggle when coming to terms with terms and such. This must have become only more apparent because he presumably, and I feel obviously, did not adequately prepare for the first debate for some reason. Whatever the reasons, all of whom I've talked to both Republican and Democrat thought that Bush should have done better in the first debate.

In this second debate the slacking that occurred before was more than made up for. The feeling I get from Bush is that he is a simple man of action; my father agrees with this sentiment and says that George Bush senior was much the same. If George W. had a motto it would be "say less and do more". I have seen instances of this do and not say many times exemplified in the manner in which the modus operandi of Bush's polices are eventually unraveled to me. For instance I did not find out much about Bush's environmental polices until the Democrats brought the subject up for discussion. Then lo and behold Bush laid out what his environmental polices were and what he had already accomplished. Before the other candidate brought up the environment as a topic Bush probably deemed the subject not worthy of much elaboration. On this topic however America has had cleaner air and water since the president entered into office. Now one would ask why I chose to focus on a political subject such as the environment that is well known to be a topic that a Democrat would focus upon rather than Republican. My reasoning is to show how well rounded Bush really is but also how well hidden many of his best attributes are because he simply does not express them. He would prefer to be fixing a problem rather than debating said problem. Quick decisive action is the way to get things done.
Bush has had communication problems in the past in getting across his views and why they are superior to Kerry's. Which is to say his views _are_ superior to Kerry's. Think about it, Kerry is for any kind of abortion at any time even the last 2 months when the baby is most certainly alive. Why would you kill someone when there are adoption agencies out there that work quite exemplary. Kerry is against any tort court reform, which also means he's for high medical insurance prices and giving more money to ambulance chasing lawyers like his running mate John Edwards. Kerry is against a strong national defense and and even research into improving the technology of defense. Kerry is against keeping what's left of competition in our privatized medical sector. Kerry is against keeping down taxes for small businesses and venture capitalists. Kerry is against small government and yet he has the gall to say that it's Bush's polices that are Orwellian. Kerry is against finishing the war in Iraq. Everything I have said about Karry is backed up by his voting record in the US Senate. Like Bush said in the second debate "you can run, but you can't hide" as far as how far as a voting record will show where one's values and views are truly placed.
Kerry has a very well documented record coming damn close to lying right in front of the public's eyes and then getting away with it. What the hell is "I actually voted for the 87 billion, before I voted against it" supposed to mean? He voted against paying the service men, he voted against cleaning up Iraq after it was damaged by our war. He voted against the very things that he now has the audacity to complain about the current president of the United States not doing a good enough job at: compensating our troops and creating a new flourishing democratic Iraq. And why did he vote like he did? Because at that time he was running against liberal crazy Howard Dean in the democratic primaries. He flip-flopped by voting "for the war" to look all American and patriotic and later voting "against the war" to make his ultra liberal party happy. I'm surprised that as a kid Mr. Kerry didn't get hooked on cigarette smoking just because someone told him it was the "cool" thing to do; he seems to make all his decisions in politics according to what the polls say are cool and hip. Where is this man's discretion, his valor, his integrity, and his pride? And ask yourself this... do you really think a guy like this who basically lies to the people and gets away with it has any respect for the intelligence of the American public?
Oh, and have we learned nothing from history! Have we learned NOTHING?! Why allow history's atrocities to repeat themselves, why when it is so blatantly obvious? When I say the word "appeasement" you should immediately link this to the doctrine of Neville Chamberlain right before World War II. Remember Operation Desert Storm with George Bush senior? The UN at that time actually passed a resolution for military action before that war, something that did not occur this time with Operation Iraqi Freedom. Even after a UN resolution for force John Kerry voted against the Gulf War. Can you believe that? I can. In effect Kerry voted for appeasement to let the dictator Saddam take over Kuwait. Sounds so familiar historically doesn't it? As of today there are a total of 1,071 US military fatalities in Iraq since the war began. There are a total of 2,819 US civilian fatalities as a result of the September 11th attacks. Yeah, I want you to think long and hard about those numbers... really, really long and hard. Keep in mind we were lucky enough that these airplanes did not have WMDs aboard them.
Any number of different types of WMDs could take out two or more times the amount of people in the radius of a blast. "Take out" as in civilian deaths, these are American civilians, peaceful people who only wish to be safe and go on with their daily lives. These are not people who are mentally prepared to kill or be killed and they did not volunteer to battle in their streets, businesses, and homes. That is what the US military is for, for people who want to enter battle and carry the knowledge that they might have to take the ultimate sacrifice of death for their country. The front lines have now moved out of US soil and into the terrorist's back yard. The US casualties are now military and not civilian. And I sincerely thank you George W. Bush for keeping the American homeland safe. Saddam did not have WMDs as was originally suspected when we attacked, but we know for a fact that he was trying to acquire them. Saddam hated us and the terrorists hate us, now you put together the puzzle and what picture does it make?
And you want to talk about number of civilian casualties, well how about more than 50,000 Kurds killed by chemical agents and this is but one instance of the price of Saddam's tyrannical rule, look at the numbers alone! We have freed the people of Iraq, we are ushering them into democracy, we have made the world a better place. If that isn't a major fulfillment and accomplishment in a liberal's ideology I don't know what is. Now think logically about this... after all these facts do you support the preemptive war with Iraq? I do, and I know that Bush did the right thing. Kerry voted against the Gulf War with a UN resolution for action, and voted for the war with Iraq without a UN resolution for action. So in what light does this show Kerry's relationship with the will of international political bodies? I must be just as confused as you are because both times he voted against the wishes of the international body.
Now, if you're a Democrat, then voting for George W. this November 2nd might carry some dissemblance with your party. However whatever your vote, consider my enduring gratitude to you if you do chose to vote according to logic and not ideology. Please, for the future of the America that I love, flip to an optimistic Bush because Kerry is a negative flop.
