 WOW, I had a fantastic time at this lan! I met Pride, the FITES web/everything admin, in person and he really is a kick ass kinda guy. I met a lot of other new people but ever since the accident I have trouble remembering names... oh and the twitch but anyway... a great lan party can only happen with great people! We played tons of UT2004, Battlefield 1942, with a dab of Doom III thrown in for good measure (but I'm not sure if I like the multiplayer aspect of the game as much as id's previous titles). I didn't get to play Jen in a one on one match but I think we both know that I would have won anyway :-) So many terabytes of file shares... so well organized, good food, nice tables, soft clean carpet (when you're on the ground plugging everything in), and well air-conditioned. I give it an A+ and they supposedly do this every 6 weeks or so. I wish I didn't live so far away.
Old News:
This is going to be a LAN party up in PA that I'm planing to attend on this Saturday August 28 starting at 10:00am and going until midnight. There will be about 30 people in attendance total and here's where it's going to be held. Yes I know that's a long distance away from Vienna, but I figured that I might as well attend at least once because I met a lot of people from FITES during my trip to QuakeCon. If you want to come along with me give me holler because there is plenty of room in the van (as has been empirically evidenced by the previous trip). You can sign up for the LAN on the FITES home page. There's also FAQ, more directions, and pictures of previous LANs up there so it's worth looking at.
