| So There _IS_ Life Out There After All |

 I found out that there is a GMU Linux User Group (LUG) on campus. There are like a whole 5 people out there who use Linux at GMU! This is great news for it shows there is hope for humanity after all. Right now they are in a process of turning into an official entity and the main website is a bit outdated so for the interim you should visit their new site until the domain gets redirected or whatnot. The members can be found chatting on IRC on the freenode.net servers in channel #gmulug. Looks like the group is a little disbanded at the moment but I believe that if you get enough industrious people in a group it can come alive. I think I'll join official when I get a chance next meeting they hold (may be a while). Admittedly this new information is not much use now that summer is starting, but hey it's nice to know it's there for next semester. Me I'm just glad I found more ripe geek converts for Gentoo Linux... resistance is futile. Speaking of world domination... If you're geeky and like to mess with cool new software, don't be afraid to switch to Linux, summer is a great time to learn the basics. Oh yeah and head on over to http://www.doom3.com/ and check out the trailer, it is oh so sexy.
